Well, I’m stuck here in Laredo
Waiting on a load
It could take three days
Til we’re ready to go

My mind’s in Jersey City
The next place I gotta be

Everybody’s always on vacation
They leave me with a job to do
I can’t complain about my situation
But I wanna have a good time, too

And, it’s hard times in the land of plenty
And, better days are overdue
Sometimes I wanna get loose from the hang ups

Well, I hollered at the dispatch
To see what was going on
She radioed the big man, hang tightand hold on

He’s still out on the golf course
And I’m loaded on the dock
I’ve wasted my weekend just staring at the clock
